Sovereign Lord, destroy in us every lofty thought, break pride to pieces and scatter it to the winds. Annihilate each clinging shred of self-righteousness. Implant within us a true lowliness of spirit. Break us Sovereign Lord, and then bind us up. May we praise You as we see sinners repenting, prodigals restored, blacksliders reclaimed, Satan's captives released, blind eyes opened, broken hearts bound up, the despondent cheered, and the self-righteous stripped. I ask these great things of a great God.
